If the weather and air quality conditions are not just right, you might not get a "great shot" right off the memory stick, but don't let that get you down. 99% of the pictures you see online or just in general, have been "upgraded" with various techniques in a photo editor. Even just adding "dehaze" will bring out the best in most drone photos. No matter the conditions, 9/10 you can still get great results processing the photo or video in Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Premier. Here's a couple of examples.
The following image was taken from the southern border of Zion National Forest in Utah. It was a sunny day about 7am and as the sun rose I was about 400 feet in the air looking north. I actually took off from the parking lot of our hotel in Spingdale. This is a good example , if you can take off , get there and back safely you can fly over the edge of the forest as long as your over 100 feet. This image is the raw version, straight from the memory card. It has only been resized to 1024x768.

Now the image is loaded into Adobe Lightroom as a DMG File (RAW) and the quality is edited, then opened and resized in Adobe Photoshop. The difference is truly dramatic.
